In different parts of the world, the never ending and high powered talks on conflict resolution, signing of peace pact deals, ceasefires are all going on in an effort to giving world peace a chance. The big question is, have these very well meant acts stood the test of time? In my simple mind I tend to think that somewhere along the way we lost out on some crucial standing points and maybe points that seem so harmless and minute that in due course were overshadowed by the growth and complexities of civilization. We hear from time to time of new Scientific innovations and discoveries; stringent checks and balances for economical and security measures and if you have the concept of a village as I do it becomes interesting that the world where we live in has become a global village. Again with all these very highly intelligent innovations, where are human beings headed to?

It is on this premise that I have decided to join others around the globe who are urging humanity at large to embrace the possibility that perhaps we are not separate from one another as it seems and maybe what another one does from one corner of the globe might be affecting another (if not all) at other corners of the world. This sounds and actually is very simplistic. When they sang ‘we are the world we are One”, the musicians may have glimpsed something of this simple truth and embracing this as the truth may just be the beginning of finding the lasting answers we are searching for creating a better world for all. I long for a time that enough of us in this country will joyously embrace this idea of Oneness because this is the only way I can see for now that shall be able to bring down the towering walls of tribalism that have for so long threatened the peace in our continent not to mention our beautiful country Kenya. Solutions of what we are continuously searching for may as well be lying deep inside the affected –HUMANITY.

PEACE TO YOU.
